Co-op presents a $3,800 check to Good Samaritan House

Every year, the Co-op hosts an annual 5K race fundraiser. This year, we are pleased to announce that we donated $3,800 to Good Samaritan House. We are grateful that we managed to increase the amount from last years donation. With much appreciation for organizational sponsorships, they helped us raise enough money to cover race costs, allowing us to donate all the proceeds from registration fees. We also had great support in collecting non-perishable foods for the Food Pantry.

A big thank you goes out to our race committee members Kym Rangitsch, Monica Tichenor, Brian Flath, and Reno Ahuja. These wonderful people spent many hours asking for donations, sponsorships as well as help with other race duties.

Feed Your Neighbor 5K has grown in popularity, many in our community came out to support the effort to alleviate hunger in our region and increase awareness of the issue.

Agencies like Good Samaritan House struggle with diminishing funds and an increasing number of families and individuals in need. Services include an emergency shelter, food pantry, soup kitchen, and an emergency assistance program. In 2017, the food pantry supported 6,939 families, and the food kitchen served over 34,500 meals.
